Farewell

Written on 16. February 2026

Henrike Naumann passed away on February 14, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends in Berlin, after a cancer diagnosis that came far too late.

Henrike asked us to send a final farewell to all the people who accompanied her on her journey. At every stage of her life, she surrounded herself with loved ones, took them all along wherever she went, and connected them through her caring nature. She loved her practice, setting up exhibitions, studying art history, and writing it herself. She was bursting with ideas and still had so many more plans, wanted to meet so many more people, and see her daughter grow up. Until the very end, she arranged objects to produce and implement her heartfelt project, the German Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. The exhibition in Venice was and is being realized in the same way that her career began: as a Gemeinschaftswerk, a collaborative effort, guided by Henrike’s artistic vision.

Even though we must do without her warmth, her love, her intellect, and her cordiality in this life, Henrike will continue to have an impact through her works and connections.

With love, Clemens and Nina
